We are delighted to announce that Bennett Oakley has been named a finalist at the BHBiz26 Awards in three categories, recognising our business, our team and the workplace culture we have worked hard to create.
We have been shortlisted for Best Business, Team of Stars and Winning Workplace, making this a fantastic achievement for everyone across Bennett Oakley.
Celebrating Our People and Our Business
At Bennett Oakley, we have always believed that a successful law firm is about much more than providing excellent legal advice. It is about creating an environment where talented people can develop, contribute ideas and feel genuinely invested in the future of the business.
That belief was strengthened when Bennett Oakley became the first law firm in Sussex to become employee owned, with our employees owning 100% of the business through an Employee Ownership Trust.
Employee ownership puts our people at the heart of Bennett Oakley. Everyone has an opportunity to contribute to the direction of the firm and share in its success, helping us build a collaborative culture focused on delivering an exceptional service to our clients.
Being shortlisted for Best Business is therefore particularly rewarding. It recognises the progress we continue to make as a firm, our commitment to our clients and our ambitions for the future.
A True Team of Stars
Our nomination for Team of Stars is an opportunity to celebrate the people who make Bennett Oakley what it is.
Across our legal departments and support teams, our colleagues work together to provide clients with approachable, practical and expert legal advice. Whether helping an individual or family through an important stage in their lives or supporting a business with a complex commercial matter, teamwork sits at the heart of the service we provide.
As an employee-owned business, collaboration is particularly important to us. Our success belongs to the whole team, and this nomination recognises the contribution made by colleagues throughout Bennett Oakley.
Creating a Winning Workplace
We are equally proud to once again be recognised in the Winning Workplace category.
Bennett Oakley won the Winning Workplace Award at the previous BHBiz Awards, making our return to the shortlist particularly meaningful.
Creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported and able to develop their careers is central to our approach. Employee ownership has allowed us to build further on this, giving colleagues a genuine voice within the business and ensuring everyone can benefit from the firm’s success.
We believe that investing in our people ultimately benefits our clients too. A motivated, engaged and collaborative team is better placed to build strong relationships and consistently provide the high standard of service our clients expect.
Looking Forward to BHBiz26
The BHBiz Awards celebrate the businesses, teams and individuals contributing to the success of the Burgess Hill business community.
This year’s awards evening will take place at Pangdean Barn on Thursday 24 September 2026, bringing together businesses from across the area to celebrate their achievements.
Being selected as a finalist in one category would have been something to celebrate. To be recognised in three – Best Business, Team of Stars and Winning Workplace – makes us incredibly proud.
Whatever happens on the night, these nominations are a reflection of the commitment, professionalism and enthusiasm of everyone at Bennett Oakley.
We look forward to celebrating with our fellow finalists in September and wish everyone shortlisted the very best of luck.
