Empowering People, Strengthening Service: A New Era in Legal Excellence
Bennett Oakley Solicitors is proud to announce the distribution of its third Employee Ownership Profit Share since becoming the first fully employee-owned law firm in Sussex. A total profit share pot of £120,000 has been allocated, with each full-time employee receiving £6,412.21, of which the first £3,600 is tax-free. Payments will be made on 28th November.
This milestone marks a significant moment for the firm, reflecting not only strong financial performance but also the success of its employee ownership model, one that places its people firmly at the heart of the business.
As one of only a small number of law firms nationwide to operate under a 100% Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), Bennett Oakley is leading the way in reshaping what the future of legal services can look like.
Putting People First
Employee ownership is still uncommon in the legal sector, despite employee-owned businesses contributing more than £30 billion to the UK’s GDP. Bennett Oakley’s move to full employee ownership ensures every team member has a voice, a stake, and a shared commitment to the firm’s success. All employees, regardless of job role or seniority, benefit equally from the profit share, recognising the value every individual brings to the firm.
The firm’s award-winning solicitors provide tailored, client-focused legal solutions across Sussex, and this people-first model reinforces a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
Samuel Cash, Operations Director at Bennett Oakley, said:
“This profit share represents more than financial reward, it reflects our belief that every person in our firm plays a vital role in our success. Moving to full employee ownership has strengthened our culture, empowered our team, and enhanced the way we serve our clients. Paying out £120,000 in our third profit share is a proud moment for us all, and it continues to mark the start of an exciting new chapter as we continue to grow stronger together.”
Bennett Oakley Solicitors remains committed to delivering exceptional legal services while championing a progressive business model that supports its people, its clients, and its community.
