Notary Public

A Notary is a qualified lawyer who holds a public office and is appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Their duty is to prepare and authenticate legal documents for use abroad.

Why Would I Use a Notary?

Any document which has been authorised by a Notary via his or her signature and seal is recognised around the world as having the relevant checks preformed and that the documents in question are authentic. Some examples of documents where you may be required to obtain a Notary’s signature and seal include:

  • A Power of Attorney authorising another party such as a solicitor to act for you abroad.
  • Copies of passports or other official documents being used to open overseas bank accounts.
  • Statutory Declarations
