In its simplest terms The Business Club is a cost effective way for you to outsource your legal needs.
However, as members of the Mid Sussex business community for over 60 years we see ourselves as a Club for business activity in the region. We can therefore offer Club members invites to networking events, regular legal updates and referral opportunities with other Club members.
Breaking away from the traditional model of hourly rates and periodic invoices, clients of Bennett Oakley Business Club benefit from a clear and transparent monthly or annual fixed-fee through which they will be matched to a Commercial Solicitor and legal team who will operate much like an in-house legal department for the business providing a comprehensive commercial and business law service.
Having your own expert legal team to deal with your legal compliance requirements including contracts, transactions, negotiations, document review, employment issues, shareholder issues, legal relationship management, intellectual property rights, brand protection, licensing, franchising, business protection, directors issues, debt recovery, financing, litigation, and dispute resolution, means that you can free up your time and resources to focus on the day to day running and operation of your business.
Our commercial lawyers are business minded and commercially aware and will take the time to understand your objectives, your business, and the environment in which it operates in order to provide you with the most efficient legal solutions. We don’t view ourselves as just lawyers, rather we are a friendly, approachable, commercial aware team of legal advisors helping clients to protect their interests, manage relationships, and expand into new markets. From identifying new business prospects for you, to legal proofing your business. From recovering overdue debts, to protecting and furthering your interests through the course of a dispute. From advising on a merger or guiding you through an acquisition, we offer a comprehensive commercial service and see ourselves as well placed to take the mantle of legal department of your business.
How does it work?
We understand that no two businesses are the same, and no two businesses will have the same legal needs and requirements. That is why we aim to offer a tailored range of packages designed to meet the needs of most businesses.
In essence, in return for the fixed monthly or annual fee, your business will benefit from a monthly allowance of hours to use. You can use the hours on a range of our commercial and business services as well as more general uses such as legal support and advice, attendance at meetings, document analysis etc. Provided it is a service we offer and the scope of the work is within our remit of expertise, you can redeem your hours for your dedicated legal team to complete the work for you. Should you not utilise your hours in a given month, then they are not wasted. They are simply carried over and so forth. If you go over your allocated or accrued hours in a given month, we will charge you at a discounted hourly rate.
How much does it cost?
We have put together several different packages tailored to suit a variety of businesses from those that are new start-ups and small businesses with less than 10 employees, to larger businesses with more than 25 employees and an annual turn over of over £500,000.00.
Our basic package starts at £500.00 + VAT per month for 3.5 redeemable hours per months or 42 redeemable hours per annum. For annual subscribers there is a discount of 2 months for free meaning you only pay for 10 months. We are also happy to discuss your business needs with you and create bespoke packages for your business.
Do your services include disputes and contentious matters?
Yes, the fact that our packages include litigation, mediation and dispute resolution services sets us apart from the competition. Bennett Oakley Solicitors benefits from having an experienced litigation and dispute resolution department coupled with an in-house advocacy service and well-established links with leading sets of chambers in the regional area, meaning that we are well placed to manage and progress contentious and litigious matters whether as Claimant or Defendant. We also have our own Solicitor Advocate who holds the Higher Rights of Audience accreditation meaning that we are able to offer our client’s advocacy services and provide them with representation in all of the Civil Courts in England & Wales.
